Challenges
While delivering new high-end security devices, the customer was not able to provide EMS solution to HP NNM users
Solution
- Designed and implemented an Element Management Plug-in for HP OpenView NNM to manage high-end security devices
- Customization of HP OpenView NNM Runtime for managing the client’s devices. The feature-set included device discovery, fault management and performance management
- C++ and Java based plug-in modules for HP OpenView NNM for providing additional device management capabilities such as firmware, security and configuration management
Outcomes
- Enabled HP NNM users to manage their existing network by offering device specific EMS features
- Eliminated the need for having one more EMS along with HP OpenView NNM
